The canevas

Our tents are made of a 10 ounces Sunforger treated 100% cotton canvas, which is water repellant and mold and fire resistant. This material is resistant, lightweight and breathable.

TENTS SIDES

At the bottom of the tent sides, we use a strip of 7 ounces fabrene, which is usually used for car shelters, such as “Tempo”. This is the material that will be touching the ground, protecting the cotton against wear and tear and preventing snow and ice from sticking. All gimps are made of a strip of strong and resistant polypropylene.

CHIMNEY OUTLETS

High quality chimney outlets are made of high temperature silicone that can withstand temperatures up to 400°C. They are flexible, leaktight and they cannot tear up the tent, compared to a metal plate, serving the same purpose.

SEWING THREAD

La résistance à l’eau des tentes est aussi due à l’utilisation d’un bon fil à coudre. Nous utilisons un fil de polyester (pour la solidité) enduit de coton. Le coton au contact de l’eau se gonfle et étanchéifie la couture. Évidemment, il est  impossible de garantir une imperméabilité totale en cas de mauvaise utilisation.

REINFORCEMENTS

Our tents have been tested and used over long periods of time. Reinforcements have been sewn in the right places to make your tent last for as long as possible and avoid unpleasant surprises in the middle of the woods!
